Please present for admission at the time indicated on your appointment letter. Please bring your appointment letter with you on the day of your surgery.
On arrival at the hospital, please go directly to the Reception desk located on the Ground Floor of the hospital, inside the main entrance.
If you are delayed on the day, please contact the Admissions Department on (044) 93 85320 to let us know that you are on your way and what time you expect to arrive.
All patients admitted for morning surgery, undergoing general anaesthetic are requested to FAST from midnight .i.e. nothing to eat or drink, including water.
However, patients who are scheduled for surgery in the afternoon may have a light breakfast i.e. tea and toast only, up to 7am and must fast thereafter or as directed by their consultant.
On the day of your procedure/surgery, please have a shower. Afterwards, do not apply make-up, perfume, lotions or powders and kindly remove all nail varnish. Please also remove all jewellery and body piercing's ahead of arriving in the hospital.
In the unlikely event that you become unwell, or are in contact with any infectious disease in the days prior to your admission, or are unable to attend, please contact either Assissi or Alverna Wards at the numbers above, at least a day in advance for advice.
It is important to arrange for a responsible adult to collect you, drive you home and look after you for the first 24 hours post discharge from the hospital.
